TELAŠĆICA NATURE PARK (36 km)
The Telašćica bay is located in the southern part of the island and occupies an area of about 70 km2 between sea and land, characterized by 13 islands and over 69 km of coastline, divided into 25 small bays.
In the western part of the park there are rocky cliffs that rise over 160 m from the sea, offering a spectacular panorama.
The park is also characterized by the presence of the Mir Salt Lake (literally "lake of peace"), surrounded by thick vegetation and large shaded areas.
Telašćica bay cuts through the coast of the island for 8 km, opening to the south-east towards the nearby Kornati islands. The name probably comes from the Latin “tre lagus” (three lakes), in fact the bay has three parts or lagoons separated by bottlenecks. The depths of the bay are rich in algae and underwater views and are a fundamental habitat for numerous marine species that reproduce here.
